Other activities the club and its members have taken part in include: Fall French Cabaret, the Spring Spectacular (for all foreign languages), a trip to the Pittsburgh Opera, African Movie Nights and weekly French Table meetings at Black Bear on Thursday nights at 7 pm. French Table meetings can be rather large gatherings of students, professors and community members who meet to practice the French language in lively conversations. Please contact Elena Shimanskaya for information on meeting times and locations for the French conversation table.

German Club

This student-run club organizes WVU tailgate parties, outings to Pittsburgh, parties, and service projects. It's a great way to meet people, have fun, and speak German at the same time.

German Films

German-speaking films will expose you to authentic cultural products made for a German-speaking audience. The film list includes classics and more recent films from German-speaking countries, and include every genre, from comedies to drama and horror films. To improve your language skills and cultural awareness, we recommend that you attend as many films as possible. Students in 101-204 may receive extra credit points for class by watching a film and writing a one-page summary about it.

German-language films are shown bi-weekly on Wednesdays from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. in Downtown Campus Library Room 104.

Stammtsch

Attending Stammtisch, the German conversation table, offers students and non-students the opportunity to meet and speak with German-speaking GTAs, faculty, and native German speakers from the university and community in an informal setting. German-speaking friends or friends interested in German-speaking cultures are also welcome to attend. Come enjoy good food, good company, and German speaking at the Stammtisch every Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Brew Pub.

Circolo Italiano

The Circolo Italiano is a student organization at West Virginia University. Anyone interested in Italian culture, language and civilization is invited to join.

The Circolo Italiano hosts a weekly Conversation Hour (Tavolo Italiano). This activity gives students and members of the community who speak Italian an opportunity to practice and improve their language skills.

Other activities have included: pasta-making evening, learning to play the Italian card game Scopa, a pepperoni-roll making afternoon, a bocce tournament and Italian movie nights.
